About the Engineering Department
The Engineering Department coordinates the City’s capital improvement projects, traffic systems, construction permits, utility inspections, and assists in development reviews to ensure adherence to appropriate design and construction standards and specifications.
Capital Improvement Projects
During capital improvement projects the Engineering Department formulates implementation options and strategies, provide action plans with timetables and deadlines, develops engineering plans and contract documents, and prepare and submits requests for proposals, bids, and manages consultants.
Working With Public Works
The Engineering Department also provides assistance to Public Works in the operating the City’s water production and distribution, wastewater collection, streets, and the storm drainage systems by providing technical insight, support and recommendations.
