Coach Discount Policy
Saratoga Springs Coaches Discount Policy
Discount Amount Possible: $50
To Receive Full Discount:
- Must be head coach
- Must attend/watch coach meeting
- Must complete coach enrollment & abuse training a week prior to season start
- Must complete the Saratoga Springs Coach Certification
- Must successfully complete season
- Must have good sportsmanship score
Discount Breakdown: Coaches receive partial credit for completing each of the following with a total of $50 possible per team coached.
To be Completed a Week PRIOR to the Start of the Season:
- Coach Enrollment & Abuse Training $5
- Coach Meeting $10
- Saratoga Springs Coach Certification $10
Throughout and End of Season Requirements:
- Sportsmanship score of an average of 3 for the season $10
- Successfully Complete Season $15
- Returned Equipment Bag (If Applicable)
Coach enrollment includes a background check. The enrollment will NOT run a background check if a coach has completed one within the last two years.
Restrictions:
- Program Equipment (If Applicable) Must be returned after the season to qualify for the coach discount
- Must be used at time of registration
- No refunds if registration is paid and then a request to apply the discount is made
- Discount will remain available for a future program
- Cannot be used on programs not run directly by Saratoga Springs
- Example – Summer camps run by a 3rd party
- Coach Certification is required every two years
- Background check is required every two years
- Abuse Training is required annually
How To Redeem:
Once the season is complete you will be eligible for your discount. To redeem your discount, contact the Recreation Department. Provide the program name you are wanting to register for and the child’s grade/age you are registering. The Recreation Department will create a coupon code with your discount amount.
Coach discounts do not expire.
How to Complete Volunteer Coach Enrollment:
- Log into your account that you used to register your child
- If a spouse did registration use their login
- If you are not immediate family or in a divorced situation then create or login to your own account
- Make sure you are on the account as a parent/guardian
- If not add yourself by clicking the members link and then add parent button
- Once you are on the account click the Place Order link
- Select yourself as the enrollee
- Select Volunteer from the enrollment type drop down box
- Select the program you are volunteering for from the program drop down
- Select the grade you are coaching in the offering drop down
- Select the type of volunteer from the enrollment selection drop down
- Click the Add Enrollment button to proceed
- Once it is added to your cart select the Proceed to Checkout button
- From here answer the questions and agree to the documents
- Click Proceed at the bottom of that page
- Finish the transaction, it treats it like a paid transaction, but no money is charged
- You are finished, Thank you
Guide to Completing Online Trainings
Saratoga Springs Recreation uses software called Niche Academy for all online videos and training.
When you volunteer to coach an invite will be sent to you to access Niche Academy. If you have coached for a prior program, you will already have an account and just need to navigate to Niche Academy.
To access the trainings, you will need to be invited to them. You can create an account with Niche but will not have access until you are invited by a program coordinator. If you want access and have not received your invite yet, please reach out to the Recreation Department.
