A Message from the Mayor
Saratoga Springs is at the center of one of the fastest-growing regions in Utah, and with that growth comes both opportunity and responsibility. What was once the western edge of Utah County is now a key contributor to the region’s economic future. Our focus today is not simply how fast we grow, but how deliberately we shape that growth to create long-term value for residents, employers, and investors.
Transportation is the foundation of our economic strategy. Over the past several years, Saratoga Springs has made significant investments in roadway capacity, safety, and regional connectivity, including major improvements to Mountain View Corridor, Pony Express Parkway, and key east–west and north–south connections. These projects, along with proactive right-of-way preservation and strong partnerships with the State of Utah and private developers, ensure that infrastructure keeps pace with growth and supports future development.
That foundation is already paying off. Saratoga Springs is home to more than 70,000 residents, with continued growth projected over the coming years. The city has over 724,000 square feet of commercial development built or in the pipeline, strong business license and permit activity, and steadily increasing sales tax revenues—clear indicators of business confidence and local investment.
At the same time, we are committed to disciplined planning. We are intentional about aligning land use with infrastructure, avoiding premature entitlements, and ensuring long-term funding for long-term obligations. This approach protects taxpayers, supports employers, and creates predictability for investment.
Looking ahead, new projects will expand retail options, reduce retail leakage, create jobs, and strengthen our tax base. We are also uniquely positioned to create a thoughtfully planned city center—one that develops in phases and reflects a long-term vision rather than fragmented growth.
Saratoga Springs does not succeed in isolation. Our progress depends on strong partnerships with businesses, developers, neighboring cities, chambers of commerce, and the State of Utah. We welcome investment, value employers, and remain committed to deliberate, well-planned growth.
Saratoga Springs is no longer asking what growth will bring. We are intentionally deciding how to shape it—for today and for generations to come.
Sincerely,
Chris Carn, Mayor
