Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP)

State and Federal law requires a Storm Water Pollution Plan for all developments exceeding one acre including projects less than one acre that are part of a larger common plan of development. Developments of less than one acre will still be required to take appropriate measures to prevent sediment from entering the storm drain system and to prevent the tracking of mud and debris onto city streets.

Best Management Practices

The SWPPP should provide information regarding construction period Best Management Practices (BMPs), location of BMPs, details of specific BMPs and notes specific to the project. Avoid notes that are not relevant to the project. A list of available Construction BMPs can be found on the Utah Department of Environmental Quality website. All BMPs are subject to the approval of Saratoga Springs City.

Developing a Plan

A template for developing a SWPPP is available through the Utah Division of Water Quality website.

A notice of intent (NOI) must be filed through the Utah State Division of Water Quality and can be obtained through their website. Upon completion of the project a notice of termination (NOT) must be obtained.
